4 Insightful Wedding Tips from The Bridesmaid
Published on: April 09, 2019 Blog
There are few things more special than being asked to take part in somebody’s big day. And being a bridesmaid is one of the most exciting experiences of your life.
It can also be one of the most stressful.
The great thing is, while the day is all about celebrating your friend’s love, you don’t have to do it alone!
Here are a few ideas from a recent bridesmaid that will help your day run a little smoother.
Bridesmaid Tip #1: Volunteer to Help as Soon as Possible
For the bride to be, there’s a lot of planning that lies ahead!
The best advice I have for you is to volunteer to help the bride as soon as possible. It takes lots of organization to keep everything on track when you’re faced with endless decisions, lists, and deadlines.
As a bridesmaid, offer your time. Whether it be finding vendors, tasting cake samples, putting centerpieces together, or attending local bridal shows – this is the perfect time to help the bride navigate planning their celebration.
Throughout the planning, keep your bride on track with a binder, or create a shared calendar on your phone to remind you of upcoming appointments.
And planning doesn’t have to be all business. Have some fun too! Get together on the weekends, enjoy some wine while putting centerpieces together; remember that these experiences help make her wedding special too.
Bridesmaid Tip #2: Dress Shopping
Here’s the thing: weddings can be expensive. And so can the bridesmaid dresses.
While you may have found the perfect bridesmaid dress, please remember there are alterations, shoes, and accessories – it can get costly. Especially if you can’t wear it for any other occasion.
When it comes to finding your bridesmaids dress, try to be considerate, whether you or the bride are paying for it.
Bridesmaid Tip #3: Take Care of The Bride and Yourself Too!
You want to be your best for the wedding day, so please take care of each other. You don’t want one your memories to be how tired you were or how sick you got afterwards.
Here are some helpful tips:
- Get plenty of rest. Remember: Getting a full night of sleep will help you have the energy you need to get your tasks done and to stay healthy.
- Eat! Make healthy food choices and drink plenty of water. This will also help you stay energized.
- Exercise. A 10 or 15-minute walk will help clear the mental cobwebs and energize you for your next task. If you and the bride are prepping for the wedding and need a break, have her go with, and you’ll both benefit!
- Emergency Bridesmaid Pack: Pack an emergency kit for the bride. Include simple-but-necessary items like needle and thread, ibuprofen, water bottles, bobby pins, etc. Trust me, your bride will thank you!
Bridesmaid Tip #4: Cherish The Moment
There will be so many wonderful things to look forward to on the wedding day. But while it gets busy, be sure to take a moment with the bridal party to sit back, relax, and cherish the celebration!
